Metro Walk is characterized by its sinuous plan, curved atriums and wide mix of retail environments under one roof. In late 2011, we were commissioned to start a comprehensive renovation of the interior public areas. The work has been subsequently implemented over all 5 levels: north, middle and south zones.
Wherever possible, shop fronts were removed, and ceilings were opened to inject a very cool, contemporary atmosphere to the retail corridors. Special thematic zones, such as cosmetics, homeware, young men’s and ladies casual, were all designed to inject fresh, youthful appeal through exciting art elements, sculpture and media technology. Escalators and atriums were also rearranged to improve customer flow.
