Our design of the “one of a kind” JCD pier is spearheaded by the developer’s demand for minimum coastal imapct, environmentally friendly materials, energy-efficiencies, inclusive mobility, active health, and socio-cultural engagement. Every aspect of the Pier is designed with the future in mind, underpinned by robust supplier, operator and contractor screening.

THE ALL NEW “TOPS CLUB”

The Central Food Group opened its flagship new chain membership retail store named Tops Club in September 2022. Tops Club is a brand retail destination offering a broad selection of import products, many of which are new to the local market. In the first 2 years the Club targets 2000-4000 members per day on weekdays and 5000 plus members per day on weekends and holidays. It carries more than 3500 products in five categories: dry grocery and beverage, fresh food, alcohol, general merchandise, and household. 70% of the brands are imported from the USA, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.

Concept i were commissioned for comprehensive Retail Consultancy, Architecture, Interior Design, Due Diligence and Site Inspection services. The client required a gross floor area of 15,000 sq.m. located on a site adjacent to one of the Groups major malls, Central Rama 2 Bangkok. This inspired a strong master plan, oriented around a beautiful lake, with special feature connecting tunnels between the spaces.

The brief highlighted the need to look international, expressing the unique emphasis on import brands, and also to pack the project full of interactive, fun experiences for shoppers. Tops Club includes many fun “hands on” displays, entertaining demonstrations, digital and media experiences.

This 280,000m² vertical mixed-use project sits at the heart of Manila’s busiest roadways, with over a million passengers traveling past the site each day.  As a live, work, and play concept for the master plan, we were appointed as the lead retail and podium architect for the project with an area of 85,000 m².

Our team took a pragmatic approach for positioning the project, with an emphasis on extracting key drivers from the site context analysis and deep research into cutting-edge market trends.  The team developed a branded retail environment that responded perfectly to market conditions, opportunities, and economics.

Toggi Fun World is Born – Grrrrrrrreat!!

Toggi Fun World, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh

Nestled into the beautiful coastal mangroves of Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, a mysterious new “Paradise of Fun” is born. Welcome to Toggi Fun World, an 85 acre theme park including Rides Park, Water Park, Indoor Entertainment Center and 500 Room Resort Hotel, all surrounding a spectacular waterfall lagoon. The project is positioned to become Bangladesh’s newest, largest and best integrated resort set within a few km of Cox’s Bazar expanding international airport and train network. Key attractions include a suspended coaster, drop tower, Bangladesh’s tallest restaurant/observatory, a 5,000 sq.m double wave pool, a man made “erupting” volcano with 90m high waterfall, live Lagoon shows, and multimedia sound/light river shows. With over 60 indoor and outdoor attractions, Toggi Funworld will become Bangladesh’s premier entertainment destination.

Tallest Observation Wheel in Europe

Whey Aye, Newcastle

Concept i are delighted to be master planning and designing Europe’s tallest observation wheel on Newcastle Quayside, UK.

Standing nearly 460 ft (140 m) high, the giant observation wheel – dubbed ‘The Whey Aye’ in celebration of its location – will be 16 ft (5 m) taller than the London Eye. The project is being developed by World Wheel Company with an anticipated investment of approximately £100m and up to 550 jobs created. The development will cover 344,445 sq ft (32,000 sq m) and will take 18 to 24 months to construct.

The project will feature a family entertainment centre filled with trampolines, climbing walls, a skywalk and separate café. In addition, there will be a multi-purpose play and sports complex, with covered five-a-side pitches, tennis courts, as well as a state-of-the-art virtual golf club along with a new retail, dining and entertainment destination for Newcastle called The Giant’s Quay.

Work – Play – Relax

Seacon Office Headquarters, Bangkok

Seacon Development Group appointed us to design their new corporate
headquarters in eastern Bangkok. The scope was full service, including
Architecture, Interior, Lighting, Landscape, Signage and Graphics. We
defined a work/relax/play philosophy, dedicated to staff welfare and
inspiring casual exchanges and social interaction between all levels of
employees.

A freeform, 2-storey plan was designed to maximise views and bring
natural daylight and gardens into the working space. Open spaces were
maximised, with a sparing use of partitions in separating main
departments, formal meeting and executive spaces. Natural wood
finishes, open ceilings and outward views provide a comfortable
indoor/outdoor look and feel.

A different kind of place

Breeze Leisure Plaza, Antalya

Breeze, Antalya is a collection of mesmerizing spaces, all inspired by the beautiful city. Visitors will meander the charm of the Harbourside Village, spectacular Cliffscapes, Magic Reefs, terraced Amphitheaters and last, but not least “Funtalya”, a paradise of active play for children. The entire space
forms a remarkable Valley of Fun and Relaxation.

On first impression, visitors pour and flow into a seamless plaza where fashion, fun and food collide. Breeze is not architecture, interiors or landscape… Breeze is a wholistic, multi-dimensional, sensory environment designed for people. While your feet touch sand, or wander sloping cobbled
streets, eyes drift high above in the air, on terraces and suspended canyon bridges. Cascades, planters, super trees and canopies awaken with celebrations of sound, light and media. Stages and live shows appear. Surfers and Seagulls glide. Things move, scenes change, life happens. “Breeze” is a Theater of Life.

“Breeze” is not a Mall. It is a place where everything is creatively different, and conceived for surprise.
