Tianhe International Center, Chongqing

Set beneath Chongqing’s newest international Super Tower, the Tianhe International Retail Centre has 24-hour access from surrounding city plazas, hotels, offices and pedestrian networks. The mall terraces 7 levels down, from L4 to B3, deep into the MRT transit system below. Its location, and interconnected office/hotel, infers a hive of buzzing human activity, day and night.

We sculpted the retail atrium to enhance light and views up and down through all levels, together with scenic lifts, media mesh and water features. Floor themes, graphics and materials transitioned to give different identities to each level of the mall. Fast food zones were allocated close to the MRT levels, with casual lifestyle restaurants clustered at the upper levels.
